So, “where’s PJANG #5?”, you may well be asking. Going by our regular 6-monthly publishing schedule, we must be about due another issue?

Well, I do have half an issue, thanks to the sterling work of Kelvin Green on a little strip we called ‘The Ex-Men’ (no lawsuits there, then)… unfortunately, the rest of the comic is proving a little more elusive. There’s a couple of top artists currently beavering away on strips - one you know from old, one you might not be familiar with - but no word as yet on when they’ll see the light of day. Meanwhile there’s a couple more people waiting on scripts from me (sorry guys!) - and always, I’m always on the lookout for new artists to join the PJANG family… so if you fancy drawing a story about why people just ain’t no good, do drop me a line.

In the meantime, for those of you hungering for more of my strips, do please check out the thoughtballoons website, a new collaborative writing site I’ve joined. Every week we choose a different comic character and each writer is tasked with producing a one-page strip about them. So far we’ve seen an excellent range of stories dealing with Iron Man, Molecule Man, Mephisto and Dr. Doom… with many more to come.

PJANG 4 - The HEAT Is On!

PJANG #4 has arrived at last, and yes, I’ve sold out. I’m going for the Heat market. They seem to be the only periodicals that still sell these days, so maybe I’ll pick up some extra sales from gullible fools who think they can read about their favourite stars’ relationship traumas or what’s happening in the Big Brother house this week. Of course, they’ll be in for a shock, because PJANG #4 is merely further proof that People Just Ain’t No Good.

It does feature a celebrity expose of sorts, in the lead strip drawn by Crazy Chris Askham. Then there’s a question of marital infidelity and domestic vengeance as drawn by Riotous Ryan Taylor. Finally it’s the return of Titanic Tony McGee with a little Twilight Zone homage we called ‘Split’. Three great stories, with full colour covers by Nigel Lowrey and Davey Metcalfe - all for just £1.75. Read the previews below. Hope you enjoy them.

I’ve been neglecting this site a little lately, but I wouldn’t want you to think that means People have suddenly become universally Good. PJANG #4 is almost here… and to prove it, here are a couple of samples. (Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.)

Below is the opening page from Stella, featuring art by Chris Askham - great to tempt him back into drawing one of my strips after all these years. After that it’s a page from a title-withheld back-up story from newcomer (well, new to me and PJANG) Ryan Taylor. Special Christmas thanks go out to both artists. More updates soon.

I should have mentioned this a couple of weeks back when I set it up, but there’s now a PJANG group over on Facebook where you can discuss the latest issue and see tasters for forthcoming issues (when I have something to show).

I’m pretty sure you can join it by clicking here… but you probably have to be on Facebook to do so, and I wouldn’t blame you if you’re not, because yes, it is a bit annoying. Still, at least they’ve stopped all that nudging, winking and sheep-chucking nonsense.

PJANG #3 is now available to buy by clicking on the paypal link in the sidebar on the left. Featuring three all new stories written by me with art by Andrew Cheverton, Nige Lowrey and Davey Metcalfe, this really is our best issue yet. No hype, honest.

Included in this issue… it’s the end of the world as we know it (and nobody feels fine), adolescent power realities, and the true story of how a teenager’s life was saved by both Morrissey and Bruce Springsteen.

It’s official - the first print of PJANG #1 has sold out! (And issue #2 is well on its way to doing the same.)

So, like all good comic publishers worth their salt, we’ve splashed out on a limited edition second printing. Not only that, but the second printing also features an all-new (well, sort of) variant back cover by Davey Metcalfe…

PJANG #1 (second print) and #2 are available to buy by clicking on the buttons in the right hand column of this page. So if you’ve not yet bought your copy of the comic reviewers are calling “not bad”, “cheaper than New Avengers”, and “better than Amazing Spider-Man Volume 2 issue 13″*… then what are you waiting for?

And if that’s not enough… how about a preview of PJANG #3? (Which is now two thirds complete - the race is on between a couple of top name artists to grab that coveted final space - but don’t worry guys, if you don’t get into #3, you’ll get pride of place in #4.) The second issue of my small press comic PJANG is now available, priced £1.75 including postage. Just click on the paypal button in the column on the right, below the cover to issue 2. (And let me know if it doesn’t work!)

PJANG #2 features a complete issue-length story written by me, with art by the incomparable Davey Metcalfe and a cover by the one and only Nige Lowrey.

I’m hoping to get some preview pages up here shortly. There’s a story behind why they aren’t here now, but the short version is I’m incredibly incompetent. And, y’know, it’s Christmas…
